An efficient packaging method in which a thin film layer is hermetically applied to a plastic tray by heat and pressure. The film adheres to the edges. This protects the contents and extends shelf life. Top sealing is ideal for safely packaging fresh produce, meals and salads.

Flush gasification involves "flushing" the oxygen out of the shell by pumping gas into it. This can remove up to 100% of the oxygen and extend the shelf life of the product. This process is slightly faster than vacuum gassing.

In vacuum gases, the oxygen is first sucked out of the shell. Then the gas is pumped in. This can remove up to 100% of the oxygen and extend the shelf life of the product. This process takes slightly longer than rinse gassing.

In skinning, a product is placed on a rigid surface, such as cardboard or plastic, and covered with a clear plastic film. The film is heated and vacuum pulled around the product, creating a tight, protective layer. This provides excellent protection against damage and contamination, extends shelf life and creates an attractive product presentation.
